Canada Skilled Migration
Moving to Canada is an exciting opportunity and a life-changing experience. Ranked as one of the best places on the planet to live, Canada is a top destination for those considering immigration. In fact, the country is recognized as the land of immigrants.
Express Entry is an immigration system used to select individuals to Canada. Canada has a few economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- Federal Skilled Trade Program,
- Canadian Experience Class and
- Provincial Nominee Program.
Express Entry - Federal Skilled Worker Program
One of the most popular immigration programs for skilled workers is the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) under Express Entry.
Express Entry uses an online application system that assesses a candidate’s profile based on points. Once you are in the pool of Express Entry, you would have to wait to be selected before you can apply for permanent residence.
Step 1: Create an online profile
You will declare your education, work experience, language ability, and other personal information.
Ensure all information is accurate. False information will disqualify you from the pool in the future. If you meet the minimum entry criteria, you will be invited to join other candidates from Express Entry.
Steps 2:Invitation to apply
The government selects candidates from the Express Entry pool according to different factors met. If selected, you would be invited to apply for permanent residence.
A detailed explanation on how to calculate these points can be found in my blog – How to count the points in Express Entry.
